Dukakis Hops On The Capuano Train

1130dukakis

On a Green Line train to Washington Square in Brookline, U.S. Rep. Mike Capuano said former Gov. Michael Dukakis harassed him on 14 different issues — including transportation.

Dukakis was known as the "transportation governor," so it was no surprise he and Capuano rode in on a trolley before Dukakis announced his endorsement.

Capuano sits on the House Transportation Committee, so they probably had a lot to talk about. Dukakis announced he is supporting Capuano at the Washington Square Tavern in Brookline.

Dukakis stood on a small riser with his wife, Kitty, in a crowded tavern.  Both were wearing red sweaters and big smiles.  Kitty came out in support for Capuano weeks ago and the governor said she has been bugging him for weeks to back him, as well.  While Dukakis is well-loved by dyed-in-the-wool Democrats, it's unclear whether his stamp of approval will put Capuano in the Senate.
