Mass. Judge To Re-Examine 1986 Bishop Shooting

A Massachusetts judge has scheduled an inquest this week into the 1986 death of the brother of a university professor accused in Alabama of killing three colleagues.

Norfolk District Attorney William Keating ordered the inquest to investigate whether Amy Bishop intentionally shot her 18-year-old brother, Seth, at their Braintree home.

The shooting was originally ruled an accident.

After Bishop was arrested in the Feb. 12 shooting deaths of three professors at the University of Alabama-Huntsville, new information was released. Prosecutors said they were never told that Bishop held a gun on workers at an auto body shop and tried to steal a getaway car after she shot her brother.

The closed-door inquest is set to begin Tuesday and is expected to run through Friday.
