It's shaping up to be another big weekend for Boston sports fans.

The suddenly-hot Boston Bruins are hosting the Philadelphia Flyers in hockey's Eastern Conference Semifinals Saturday afternoon, and the Boston Celtics are on the road against the Cleveland Cavaliers to open the second round of the NBA Playoffs, also Saturday.

On Friday, The Boston Globe sports columnist Bob Ryan joined WBUR to talk about the city's good sports fortune. Ryan denied that Boston fans are spoiled by their teams' performances, however. "That's our birthright, is it not?" he asked.

This program aired on April 30, 2010.
