Mass. Immigrant Students To Rally On Military Plan

A group of undocumented immigrant students is planning a march in Boston to urge a passage of a bill that would allow them to obtain citizenship if they join the military.

The Boston-based group known as the Student Immigrant Movement has scheduled a rally on Tuesday in front of the State House and a march along the "Freedom Trail" in Boston toward Sen. Scott Brown's office.

The students say they have collected more than 1,000 letters of support for the Dream Act. The bill would open an avenue to conditional residency for college students who are illegally in the country.

Brown spokeswoman Gail Gitcho said Brown, who opposed granting in-state tuition to illegal immigrants as a state senator, will review the legislation if and when it comes before the Senate.
