And now for the decider in the 2010 NBA Finals.

The Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers head back to the Staples Center Thursday night for the final tip-off for the NBA title. It will be just the third time in 22 years the finals have gone to seven games.

The Lakers delivered both teams to another game with a 89-67 victory over the Celtics on Tuesday night.

Gary Tanguay, who is in LA covering the series for Comcast Sports, told WBUR the Celts were tripped up by a lack of momentum that's pervaded the whole series.

"They looked lethargic, and they tried to play one-on-one basketball," Tanguay said, explaining that was due to the Lakers’ early lead.

"When the opposition gets off to a fast start, you have players who try to get back into the game on their own, instead of being patient, running the offense," Tanguay said.

But he's optimistic about the team's chances Thursday night.

"The Celtics are going to win Game 7, I'm confident about that," Tanguay said.

This program aired on June 16, 2010.
