A lot happens when a group of people share food at a table. This idea motivated Lynne Christy Anderson to write "Breaking Bread: Recipes and Stories from Immigrant Kitchens." Ten years ago, Lynne started teaching English as a second language to recent émigrés. Despite their shared struggle to learn a new language, Lynne wanted to find a way to connect their disparate experiences and cultures. In no time, she realized how she could bridge those gaping borders: food.
