Boston Mayor Back In The Hospital

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino has returned to the hospital after having a negative reaction to the antibiotics he's taking for an infection.

The longest serving mayor in city history was readmitted to Brigham and Women's Hospital on Wednesday night. It's unclear how long he'll be in the hospital but the stay isn't expected to be lengthy.

The 67-year-old mayor was first hospitalized two days before Thanksgiving after developing a bacterial infection in his left elbow on a trip to Italy, where he was attending a conference. He also had a minor operation to drain fluid from his arm.

He was released Saturday, but according to his office had a negative reaction to oral antibiotics he was given.

Menino's office says the infection is clearing up.
