Bus Of UMass Students On Ski Trip Crashes In Vt.

Police say a tour bus carrying University of Massachusetts students going on a ski trip rolled over in Vermont, injuring 30 people, three of them seriously.

Vermont State Police spokeswoman Stephanie Dasaro says the bus rolled off Interstate 91 near Putney and slid down an embankment late Friday afternoon. She says emergency responders have tended to 30 people, and three of them are in critical condition.

She says the bus was one of three from the Amherst college traveling in a caravan.

The Brattleboro Reformer reports that the buses were headed to a ski resort in Quebec when one rolled over.

At least one of the injured was air-lifted from the scene. Dozens of ambulances, fire trucks and emergency vehicles responded.
