Mayor Menino To Have Elective Knee Surgery

Mayor Thomas Menino announced Tuesday that he is undergoing an elective surgery to repair a tendon in his right knee Tuesday afternoon.

Menino had the same surgery last year. The tendon isn't completely torn, but the doctor estimates Menino will be in the hospital for the next three days to recover.

Menino said he hopes to be back to work by Monday.
