Menino: Education, Jobs And Health Care Focus Of State Of City Address

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino is finishing work on his State Of The City address he delivers Tuesday night.

On Monday's Morning Edition the mayor said he will tout progress in education, job creation and decreasing violent crimes.

Another key issue is reining in health care costs by creating a city insurance commission.

"We're looking for real reforms. The state has the reforms, why can't the municipalities of Massachusetts have the same reforms that the state has," Menino said.

Unions oppose the move, saying it would decrease their collective bargaining rights.
