Republican Hudak To Run For Congress Again

A Republican lawyer who ran an unsuccessful challenge to Democratic U.S. Rep John Tierney last fall says he plans to run again.

Bill Hudak said his support "remains widespread and deep," and he will use lessons learned during his defeat to run a leaner, more efficient campaign in 2012. He says he has received "hundreds" of e-mails and phone calls urging him to run again.

The Boxford resident garnered 43 percent of the vote last fall, doing well in the district's smaller towns but struggling in the cities.

The campaign turned negative at times, with Tierney critical of Hudak's signs that made President Obama look like Osama bin Laden, and Hudak linking Tierney to his wife's legal troubles.

Tierney's spokeswoman had no comment on Hudak's announcement.
