200 Evacuated From Boston T After Small Fire

Service on Boston's MBTA Orange Line was briefly interrupted and around 200 passengers evacuated after a small fire broke out on the tracks just south of the Chinatown station.

MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said Monday no one was hurt and service resumed about an hour and a half later.

He said the fire started at about 3:20 p.m. and power was immediately shut off.

Passengers on a northbound train heading into the station were safely led from the train, which was taken out of service.
