Missing R.I. Woman Found Dead Off Cape Cod

Authorities have confirmed that a body found about two miles off the coast of Chatham is that of a missing Rhode Island woman.

Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe confirmed that the body of 37-year-old Rachel Collins was discovered Wednesday by a boater.

The medical examiner is conducting an autopsy to determine a cause of death but foul play is not suspected.

The West Warwick, R.I. resident, a psychiatric nurse at Rhode Island Hospital, has not been seen since she left work last Friday.

Police think she drove to her native Cape Cod after leaving the hospital. A search began after her car was found Saturday in the parking lot of Nauset Light Beach.

Collins was an Eastham native and had been battling depression.
