3 Men Arrested In Methuen Armored Car Heist

Police say an armored car robbery in Methuen was an inside job. Three people, including two employees of the armored car company, have been arrested in connection with the robbery Monday.

The workers in the Garda armored car told police that a lone gunman disarmed one of them, then made them drive around for a few minutes before getting out the vehicle with a bag of cash and fleeing.

The guards then drove to the Methuen police station to report the theft.

No injuries were reported.

The suspects have been identified as 43-year-old Justin Levesque of Cumberland, R.I., and 26-year-old Eliezer Martinez of Lawrence, who are Garda employees. The third suspect is 22-year-old Willie Salazar Vasquez of Lawrence.

Levesque and Vasquez are scheduled for arraignment Tuesday.
