Billerica Middle School Teacher Charged In Robbery

A Billerica middle-school teacher is charged with pointing a gun at a man's face and helping steal his prescription drugs and cash.

School administrators say 27-year-old Jennifer Horton of Worcester has been placed on leave after turning herself in Monday morning in connection with an armed robbery in Worcester on Friday.

Police say Horton, a sixth-grade English and social studies teacher at Marshall Middle School, was with two men in a car when she allegedly held up the 54-year-old victim. The other man was allegedly an accomplice and took the drugs and cash.

The victim told police the man sprayed him with pepper spray, but he was able to escape from the car.

Horton pleaded not guilty and was released on $1,000 bail at her arraignment.
