'Wally The Green Monster' Found After Reported 'Theft'

Update at 4:10 p.m.: Boston Police offer these details on the "theft":

It was later revealed to officers that an employee took the costume and neglected to inform the proper supervisor. There is no one under arrest and Wally the Green Monster is safe.

Update at 3:52 p.m.: Boston Police tweet that Wally has been found.

Someone has swiped the Wally the Green Monster costume, Boston Police have confirmed.

The Red Sox mascot's costume was reported stolen from a complex at Boylston and Dartmouth streets at 2:22 p.m. Friday, police said.

A suspect was last seen wearing the costume at the corner of Boylston and Fairfield streets, heading downtown, police said.

Boston Police tweeted this request:

Missing: Wally the Green Monster, If seen please call Boston Police

As the Boston Globe notes, Wally's Red Sox page lists his height as “pretty big” and his weight as “doesn’t like to say.”
