Scenes From The Wellesley Start Of The Pan-Mass Challenge
The 33rd annual Pan-Mass Challenge started early Saturday morning in Sturbridge and Wellesley. The longest route, stretching 192 miles from from Sturbridge to Provincetown, will take riders two days to complete.
In all, over 5,000 people will ride one of the 11 routes this weekend, raising an estimated $36 million for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In Wellesley, 2,144 riders began their trip at 7 a.m. Saturday amid rising heat and humidity.
