MBTA Opens Charlie Card Store In Downtown Crossing

MBTA riders looking to buy Senior, Transportation Access, Visually Impaired or RIDE Charlie Card passes can now visit new store located in Boston's Downtown Crossing train station.

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority says the new store will be open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is fully accessible. The centralized customer services center is in the train station's concourse, next to the Red and Orange lines.

Richard Davey, head of the state Department of Transportation, says the new store will allow all MBTA riders to "conduct their business" in an accessible way.

Customers will also be able to transfer value from paper Charlie Tickets to plastic Charlie Cards and replace damaged passes at the new store.
