Fungus Seen At Meningitis-Linked Firm, Officials Say

State officials said Tuesday they found medications that were not properly sterilized and black matter found floating in vials of steroids later shipped off to medical clinics during their preliminary investigation into the New England Compounding Center, the Framingham specialty pharmacy linked to a nationwide meningitis outbreak that's killed 23 people and sickened 308 in 17 states.
