Mass. Senate Candidates Hitting Campaign Trail

Candidates in Massachusetts special U.S. Senate race are hitting the campaign trail with the primary election just five weeks away.

Republican Michael Sullivan is planning to hold an open house at his campaign's new headquarters in Weymouth on Saturday before heading out to knock on doors in a nearby neighborhood, and meeting voters in Brockton.

Fellow GOP Senate hopeful Gabriel Gomez is planning to stump for votes in Rockland and Worcester on Saturday and Wakefield and Lynnfield on Sunday.

Stephen Lynch is attending the opening of local campaign offices in Worcester and the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston on Saturday before meeting with voters in Gloucester and Danvers later in the day.

Democratic candidate Edward Markey and Republican hopeful Daniel Winslow are also running.

The primaries are scheduled for April 30. The special election is June 25.
