2nd Man Dies After July 4 Cape Cod Head-On Crash

The Cape Cod district attorney says a second person has died from injuries in a head-on crash that also killed an Israeli man July 4.

Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe told The Cape Cod Times that 43-year-old Michael Furlong of Sandwich died Thursday.

Furlong was ejected from his pickup truck when it collided head-on with a rented van driven by 44-year-old Amnon Bogomolsky, who also was killed. Five others in the van were less seriously hurt.

O'Keefe said authorities want to talk with the driver of a dark-colored pickup.

Police have said that vehicle set off the crash when it sideswiped Furlong's truck at the base of the Sagamore Bridge. Furlong's truck went across the median into the path of Bogomolsky's van.

Furlong was the co-owner of a pizza shop.
