Mass. Slaying Suspect Caught In Philadelphia
The alleged gunman in a drug-related slaying in Framingham in November has been captured in Philadelphia.
The Middlesex district attorney's office announced Friday that 19-year-old Jeremy Rodriguez was caught earlier this week and held without bail following his arraignment Wednesday in Pennsylvania on a fugitive from justice charge. A rendition hearing is scheduled for Feb. 18.
Massachusetts authorities say Rodriguez was one of three people who played a role in the Nov. 20 fatal shooting for 21-year-old Juan Lopez. Police say Lopez was a marijuana dealer shot during a deal.
Middlesex District Attorney Marion Ryan says Rodriguez was the shooter.
Authorities have said a masked man shot Lopez as he sat in his car.
A 16-year-old youth and a 20-year-old man had previously been captured and charged in the case.
