Man Accused Of Strangling Woman, Causing Police Chase, Police Say

A Massachusetts man has been accused of trying to strangle a woman at a New Hampshire hotel and then leading police on a chase.

Thirty-eight-year-old Gerald Fraize of Lowell, Mass., is accused of attacking the woman at the La Quinta Inn in Salem on March 23. When police arrived, they saw a car described as Fraize's leaving.

Police said he made his way to Interstate 93 South with police in pursuit. Massachusetts police clocked him going 120 mph before he was arrested.

WMUR-TV reports in court Wednesday, Fraize denied he was driving. He said he looks forward to his day in court and believes most or all of the charges against him will be dismissed.

He's facing eight charges, including assault and reckless conduct. Bail was set at $25,000.
