Grossman Keeps Fundraising Lead In Governor's Race
State Treasurer Steven Grossman is maintaining a hefty fundraising lead over his fellow Democratic candidates for governor.
As of the end of March, Grossman reported having nearly $967,000 in his campaign account.
The next closest Democratic candidate, Attorney General Martha Coakley, closed out the month with about $519,000 in her account.
The remaining three Democratic candidates ended March with far less.
Juliette Kayyem, who recently loaned her campaign $200,000, reported more than $244,000 in her account. Don Berwick ended March with nearly $150,000 on hand. Joseph Avellone had about $142,000.
Republican candidate Charlie Baker reported nearly $731,000 in his account, far more than fellow GOP hopeful Mark Fisher, who reported about $50,000.
All three independent candidates ended the month with far less: Jeff McCormick ($63,000); Evan Falchuk ($58,000); and Scott Lively ($2,100).
