2nd Arrest Made In Slaying Of Waltham Teen

A second suspect in the slaying of a 17-year-old Waltham High School senior has turned himself in.

Authorities say 22-year-old Domingo Mendes, of Belmont, is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on murder and other charges after surrendering to police on Thursday evening.

Authorities say Mendes shot Tyler Zanco, a captain on Waltham High's wrestling team, on March 20 in a parking lot at a city apartment complex.

An arrest warrant affidavit says Zanco was shot when he and two friends attempted to rob Taylor Poulin, believing he cheated Zanco's cousin in a marijuana deal. Mendes allegedly intervened in the fight and shot Zanco.

Poulin is already in custody and has pleaded not guilty to related charges.

It could not immediately be determined who Mendes' lawyer is.
