Lawyers For Tsarnaev Seek Jury Records

Lawyers for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev are seeking jury records for Massachusetts federal courts over the last three years as they prepare for his November trial.

In a motion Tuesday, the attorneys said they want to determine, among other things, if a jury plan adopted in 2009 is correcting racial imbalances. The changes followed a court challenge by two black defendants who said black citizens were underrepresented because they lived in neighborhoods where courts often didn't have residents' current addresses.

Tsarnaev's attorneys say they don't want names and street addresses of people called for jury duty. They do want zip codes, communities, ages, races, ethnicities and the disposition of the summonses.

Tsarnaev has pleaded not guilty to 30 federal charges in the bombing that killed three and injured more than 260.
