Jared Remy Pleads Guilty To Killing Girlfriend

Jared Remy will spend the rest of his life in prison. In a highly unusual move, Remy, the son of Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy, headed off a trial by pleading guilty Tuesday to murder in the first degree for killing his fiancee Jennifer Martel in Waltham last summer.

What makes the story even more tragic is that the Middlesex County district attorney is now acknowledging her office mishandled Remy, who could have been in custody on the day of the murder instead of being free. Listen above to a report from WBUR's Jack Lepiarz.
