15-Year-Old Accused Of Killing Teacher Faces New Assault Allegations

Authorities are investigating the alleged assault of a female staff member at a state juvenile correctional facility Monday, allegedly by the 15-year-old boy accused of killing a Danvers High School teacher last fall.

Philip Chism allegedly assaulted the staffer at a Department of Youth Services Facility in Dorchester.

The Suffolk County district attorney's office would not name the suspect because he is a juvenile.

But the district attorney's spokesman, Jake Wark, says the teen is not yet facing charges for the alleged assault.

"That female staffer did not suffer serious physical injury and declined medical attention at the scene," said Wark.

Chism is charged as an adult in the October rape and murder of Colleen Ritzer.
