Forecast: Hot, Humid Day Before Dry Air Moves In

Another hot and humid day will be our last for a while as a cold front moves east bringing relief. Highs this afternoon will be in the upper 80s to around 90 in most places with the usual cooler spots over Cape Cod and the south coast. A breeze will keep the air moving so for those of you working outside it won’t be too terrible.

The humidity continues running high this morning with dew points in the mid 60s. The amount of water in the air is large enough to really feel it, but still not as high as it can be this time of year or what it is further south.

The chance of storms is almost zero in eastern Massachusetts today, but will increase somewhat this evening and the first part of the overnight. I can still easily see most areas staying dry into the weekend. Although we had rain Friday, I’d love to see a bit of shower activity to keep things nice and moist.

Tomorrow the air will dry out and it will still be quite warm. Highs will reach the low to mid 80s with plenty of sunshine. A nice weekend is on tap and if you start your weekend Friday that day will be sunny and quite comfortable. A great golfing day for sure.

Heat and humidity with showers will return for a visit next week, but there are signs it won’t last very long.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 90. Cooler on the south coast and Cape Cod. Slight risk of a thunderstorm west of Route 495.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy with a quick shower or storm possible. Lows in the 60s.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and warm. Turning less humid. Highs in the mid 80s.

Friday: Lots of sunshine and pleasant. Highs near 80. Cooler in the afternoon along the coast.

Saturday: Sunny with a high of 80 to 85.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with highs of 81 to 86 (cooler on Cape Cod).
