Trial In Slaying Of Boston Delivery Man Starts

The trial of two men charged with killing and robbing a pizza delivery driver in Boston four years ago is getting started.

Opening statements in the first-degree murder trial of Alexander Gallett and Michel St. Jean are expected Wednesday in Suffolk Superior Court. Jury selection was completed Tuesday.

Prosecutors say the suspects placed a pizza order and lured 58-year-old Richel Nova to vacant house in Hyde Park in September 2010, where they ambushed him and stabbed him 16 times. They allegedly stole about $100, two pizzas, a chicken wing order and a bottle of soda before fleeing in Nova's car.

The defendants' lawyers have not commented other than to say their clients have no criminal record.

A third defendant, 17 at the time of the slaying, pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
