$1M Bail For Man Accused Of Stabbing Boston Park Rangers

Bail has been set at $1 million for a homeless man accused of stabbing two park rangers on the Boston Common.

Bodio Hutchinson pleaded not guilty Tuesday during his arraignment in Suffolk Superior Court on several charges including armed assault with intent to murder.

Prosecutors say the 34-year-old Hutchinson attacked park rangers Albert Hurd and James Lunnin last month. The rangers were seriously injured but are recovering.

Hutchinson's attorney has said her client is a paranoid schizophrenic. The attorney asked that bail be set at $10,000 but a clerk magistrate ordered the higher amount that was originally set during Hutchinson's initial arraignment.

Also Tuesday, a ceremony was held to honor four civilians and four Boston police officers who came to the aid of the wounded rangers or helped authorities locate and capture the suspect.
