Mixed Verdict For Former Pharmacy Executive Accused In Deadly Meningitis Outbreak

A federal jury delivered a mixed verdict Wednesday for the former co-owner of a Framingham compounding pharmacy that was linked to a deadly 2012 fungal meningitis outbreak that killed 64 people and sickened hundreds more across the country.

All of the victims had been treated with medicine that had been prepared at the New England Compounding Center, where prosecutors say owners skirted regulations on sterility and cleanliness in order to make higher profits.
