Forecast: More Showers Later Today, Clearing Midweek

Over the past several years, springtime in New England has meant drier-than-average weather.

If you moved here in the past few years you likely don't even know how horrible our weather can be in late March and early April. Parts of the country may have spring warmth, but here in New England gray skies, cool temperatures and wet conditions are the norm.

After a very raw and damp day Monday, we have another one in store today. Most of the steady rain or showers will hold off until this afternoon, but there is likely drizzle prior to the showers. The loop below shows the showers forecast to arrive and bring about a wet end to the evening commute.  The later you leave the office, the greater the chance it will be a wet ride home.

This evening, as this weather system moves through, there could even be a few thundershowers in spots. These wouldn't be strong or severe — just the sound of thunder and some heavier downpours.

A break in the wet weather arrives Wednesday and Thursday with seasonably mild air and sunshine. It will be a time for things to dry out a bit.

Another storm, a nor'easter, approaches Friday. This will be primarily a wet — not white — nor'easter. Although, there may be some wet snow or sleet mixed in at times.

Friday night and Saturday will be cold, wet and breezy. The exact track of the storm will determine how much rain we receive. The exact amount of rain may not seem as important since it's rain, but the more we measure the better off we'll be heading into the warmer months ahead.
