Forecast: Nice Weekend Ahead With A Taste Of Summer Saturday

There are a few scattered showers, some fog and a lot of clouds over the area this morning. You might be thinking the whole day will be this way, but for most of us, improvements are just a few hours away.

A front passing off the coast will take the showers and clouds with it, leaving us with increasing sunshine. If you are on Cape Cod, however, the clouds will hang tough, and there's even a chance of an afternoon shower. The Cape stands the lowest odds of seeing better weather today.

Temperatures will be warm today and Saturday bringing us that summer feeling with highs near 80. Even in Boston, it will be warm with the sea breeze shut down for a couple of days. The sun doesn't set until well after 7:30 this evening, and I am looking forward to a really stellar close to the day with the sun, the warmth and the green landscape.

Tomorrow brings more warmth, a slight chance of a shower or two, but also periods of sunshine and hours of dry weather. A new air mass arrives Sunday. That day features a blend of clouds and sunshine — not really any chance of rain — but much cooler air.  It will still be fantastic to be outside, but highs in Boston will be nearly 20 degrees cooler.

There might be a shower or two Monday. However, there will not be a return to a full day of rain.
