Forecast: Cloudy But Dry

Today will feature cloudy skies once again, but we're not going to see any of those pop up showers that we saw yesterday. It's just going to be a seasonably cool afternoon, with temperatures remaining under 70.

As I look out at the overall pattern, it looks quite nice into the weekend as a boundary between comfortably cool nights and mild days stays to the south of New England. This boundary will be the focal point for showers but it will remain over the Mid-Atlantic region this weekend, meaning we will be on the dry side.

This will likely be the first weekend in awhile where many of us escape any showers. There is the chance for a couple of showers across the south coast and Islands Saturday night into early Sunday, but the trend has been to keep this rain further and further south, meaning it may never even materialize there.

With high pressure in control from Canada, temperatures are going to be in the 70s during the day and 50s to near 60 at night. This can be the sweet spot for many of us, with warm-enough temperatures to enjoy outdoor activities and cool-enough nighttime temperatures to be able to keep the air conditioners off and the windows open.

The dry pattern looks to continue for a week to 10 days, so this is also a time to be sure that you are watering any of those newly-planted things, as well as all those containers you may have outside.
