Boston Hits 90 Degrees Again — But Relief Is In Sight
Hot enough for you?
Temperatures exceeded 90 degrees at Boston's Logan Airport around midday Thursday — continuing a stretch of hot weather in the region. The heat index, which accounts for how it feels with humidity, reached over 100.
A heat advisory remains in effect for most of eastern Massachusetts until 8 p.m. Thursday.
As NPR reports:
In North America, a heat dome settling over the U.S. and Canada is responsible for the days-long heatwave, placing tens of millions of residents under watches, advisories and warnings.
There's some relief in sight.
As WBUR meteorologist David Epstein said in his Thursday morning forecast: "This is our final day with widespread 90-degree weather for a while. A cold front is going to pass through the region tomorrow afternoon."
Humidity will drop Friday, as WBZ-TV meteorologist Eric Fisher showed with a GIF:
