Forecast: Warm And Mainly Dry This Week

If you're keeping a weather score for perfect weekends, I would venture to say that this past weekend had to rank up there as one of the best of the entire summer. Temperatures on Saturday in the 70s and into the 80s on Sunday are ideal for all outdoor activities. The nights have been great for sleeping too.

It's now the heart of summer and the weather tends to be quite nice this time of the year. While it's still possible we could see a day of showers or thunderstorms, generally it's pretty difficult to see a full day of rain or any really cool weather in the near future.

There is going to be a tropical system named Chris passing through to the east over the next couple of days and this will bring some high surf and perhaps riptides to the region. There's also going to be astronomical high tides Wednesday into the weekend. It wouldn't surprise me if we see some minor coastal flooding even with sunny skies.

Temperatures today will reach well into the 80s and in a couple of spots may touch the 90-degree mark. There's a better chance that more spots have a 90-degree day tomorrow and there will also be more humidity.

A cold front will sweep offshore Wednesday and this will usher in seasonably warm air for the rest of the week. It may heat up again towards the weekend but I don't see any extended periods of heat and humidity at least for right now.
