Forecast: Tranquil Weather To End The Week

A weak disturbance in the upper levels of the atmosphere will cause some clouds to cross the region this afternoon. But with limited moisture, it should remain dry. Temperatures will be slightly below normal, with highs near 80.

An approaching warm front from the west Saturday night will trigger some showers and maybe even a rumble of thunder into Sunday morning. Once this crosses, temperatures should rise above normal again, reaching 90 in many locations by Monday.

Along with the hotter temperatures, there will be a gradual increase in humidity as well. Despite the risk for the showers, most of the weekend should be rain-free for the avid beachgoers and boaters.

Thursday: Morning sun, some increasing afternoon clouds. Highs around 80, 70s Cape Cod and the Islands.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows in the upper 50s.

Friday: Mostly sunny. High 82.

Saturday: Mixed clouds and sun. Highs near 80. Few showers at night.

Sunday: Early clouds giving way to increasing sunshine in the afternoon. Highs in the mid-80s.

Monday: Mostly sunny. Hot, bit more humid. Highs approaching 90.
