Forecast: More Seasonable Weather

The warmth in humidity of Wednesday is now offshore and we are looking at a more seasonable forecast. The frontal system which swept the unseasonably humid air out to sea is still lingering south of New England. Unfortunately, when frontal systems get stuck this close, they often become a breeding ground for clouds and showers and this will be the case for Friday, especially the first part of the day.

We do have a blend of clouds and sunshine for much of today with much more comfortable temperatures. The dew point has fallen a lot and this means it's going to feel like autumn.

We will have that area of clouds and light shower activity for Friday and some of those clouds could linger into Saturday with the chance for a brief shower, especially across northern New England.

Sunday will end up being the brightest and coolest of the weekend days. Temperatures will stay in the 60s and it will be crisp when you get up Sunday morning — something we haven't really had much of this month.

The forecast becomes really tricky from Tuesday on next week, as there will be a frontal boundary close to New England. If we end up on the southern side of this boundary it's going to be warm and very humid once again and feel more like August. If we're on the northern side, then it will end up more typical for early October.

One final note is that all this warm weather has delayed the onset of the fall color season so you should prepare for everything to be a week or more later than usual.
