Speaking of frauds, fakes or just facades, our last work in business today is "Bruno."

MONTAGNE: That would be the British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen's latest character to hit the big screen. "Bruno." the movie, is out next month.

(Soundbite of movie, "Bruno")

Mr. SACHA BARON COHEN (Actor): (As Bruno) What's up? I'm Bruno. I'm here at Milan Fashion Week. Yes, I'm going to wear the jumpsuit made entirely out of Velcro.

(Soundbite of music)

MONTAGNE: Bruno's producers have piled on to the bandwagon of social networking to promote the film. MySpace ran an exclusive preview of the movie Bruno's faux MySpace page is actually mindspazz.com. It's a sort of homepage for the film. Its producers are hoping for some viral publicity, the tie up could also be uber good news for MySpace, which could use a lift.

MySpace has lost ground to rival Facebook and just laid off hundreds of workers. But it can find comfort in the fact that Bruno's mindspazz.com page has 340,000 friends. Bruno's Facebook page has only 240,000 friends.

And that's the business news on MORNING EDITION from NPR News. I'm Renee Montagne.

GREENE: And I'm David Greene. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright National Public Radio.
