University Of Florida Ready For Flesh-Eating Zombies
Officials at the University of Florida are making sure they are reading for an attack by zombies. The school has a plan for responding to the undead on its Web site among outlines for dealing with hurricanes and pandemics. A spokesman says the exercise was written by an employee to "add a little bit of levity" to disaster preparation discussions.
STEVE INSKEEP, host:
Good morning, I'm Steve Inskeep.
The University of Florida put up a Web page with preparedness plans for disasters. One plan deals with hurricanes. Another lays out advice for an attack by zombies. The tongue-in-cheek plan says the school should create a zombie response team. Its deathless prose refers to documentaries like "Night of the Living Dead." It recommends the use of weapons such as chainsaws, baseball bats and explosives when battling the undead.
