NPRCanada's Finance Minister Wrecks G7 Igloo

World financial leaders were meeting in a Canadian Arctic town, and residents welcomed them by building two igloos. Canada's Finance Minister Jim Flaherty crawled in to have a look. Flaherty accidentally destroyed the entrance of an igloo on his way out. The builders said not to worry — fixing an igloo is easier than fixing the world economy.

Good morning. Im Steve Inskeep. Maybe when Jim Flaherty became Canadas finance minister, he didn't realize his job would include this. World financial leaders met in the Canadian Arctic. Residents welcomed them by building two igloos. Flaherty crawled in to have a look. And before an expectant crowd, the finance minister accidentally destroyed the entrance of an igloo on his way out. The builders said not to worry: Fixing an igloo is easier than fixing the world economy.
