The 11 members of Typhoon visit the WXPN studio for Tuesday's episode of World Cafe. Lead by singer Kyle Morton, the Portland band originally formed in 2005. The group's latest record, White Lighter, features the band's staple of wonderfully intricate compositions that often deal with questions of mortality.
In an intimate conversation with host David Dye, Morton discusses how his traumatic experience with a life-threatening disease affected his songwriting process. He also talks about the hiatus he took from the band before returning for the new album.
