Listeners Pick Their Favorite Albums Of 2011: The Complete List Of 100

Last week we asked All Songs listeners to vote on their favorite albums of the year. Tens of thousands of you responded. We tallied the votes and today we're excited to reveal your top 100 albums of 2011.

The albums that rose to the top should look familiar:

  1. Bon Iver, 'Bon Iver'
  2. Fleet Foxes, 'Helplessness Blues'
  3. Adele, '21'
  4. The Decemberists, 'The King Is Dead'
  5. Radiohead, 'The King Of Limbs'

These five were also the top five finishers when we asked for your favorite albums midway through the year (though in slightly different order), but what's notable at year's end is the distance between the first four albums on that list and the ones that finished in spots five through 100. Bon Iver, Helplessness Blues, 21 and The King Is Dead may have come out looking like the heavyweights of 2011, but there was plenty of good music coming up behind them.

On the latest edition of All Songs Considered, we count down your top 25 albums, with songs from each. You can also read the complete list of the top 100 albums of 2011 as chosen by All Songs listeners below (or click here to download as a pdf). And while you're at it, take a look at our picks. We've made lists of our 50 favorite albums of the year and our 100 favorite songs, as well as individual staff and genre lists, plus our end-of-2011 discussion show featuring picks for surprise and discovery of the year.

Thanks for listening, for sharing your picks with us, and for being a dream audience. Now download that pdf and get listening!
