NPRThe Greenhornes On World Cafe

With a classic garage rock and blues style, The Greenhornes have been widely recognized for taking a step forward in rock by taking a step back. Started in 1996, the Cincinnati trio — composed of Craig Fox, Patrick Keeler and Jack Lawrence — grew up listening to Britain's greatest rock bands, like The Kinks, The Who and The Zombies.

Donned as modern day revivalists, The Greenhornes is just one of many outlets for this trio. Often taking breaks to collaborate with Jack White, Brendan Benson and Loretta Lynn, Keeler and Lawrence brought The Greenhornes to a momentary hault in 2005. But the hiatus came to an end last year, during which the band recorded its latest release Four Stars for White's Third Man Records.
