Husband-and-wife duo Buddy and Julie Miller appear on this episode of Mountain Stage from December 2001. Though they don't perform together as often as they once did, the Millers are widely regarded as one of the most important duos in Americana and country music.

Songwriter Julie Miller's work has been recorded by The Dixie Chicks, Lucy Kaplansky and Miranda Lambert, just to name a few; her song "All My Tears" was an essential track on Emmylou Harris' masterwork Wrecking Ball, and is also a staple of her husband's solo shows.

Buddy Miller has toured as a lead guitarist with Robert Plant, Steve Earle and Shawn Colvin; he's also produced albums by Patty Griffin, Solomon Burke and many others. Recently, he toured with American steward Jim Lauderdale, and has played an extensive behind-the-scenes role in shaping the music featured on the TV show Nashville.

Hear the couple perform "All My Tears" and songs from their only full-length album together, titled, appropriately enough, Buddy & Julie Miller.
