There's a photo of Badly Drawn Boy in the hallways of KCRW, right outside the performance studio where the bands lay their gear to set up for a session. He's in his trademark skull cap, which is pulled down almost over his eyes, and he's got a cigarette in his hand.
It's the image you see of Damon Gough that first pops in your head when you hear his distinct voice. We've long been supporters of the U.K. singer, and we recorded our most recent session with him at the incredible Village studios in West Los Angeles, with Gough on acoustic and electric guitar — and occasionally alone at the piano. A masterful storyteller and singer, he draws on deep emotions with the simplest musical arrangements.
