In addition to the requisite Manhattan backdrop, neurosis and affairs, the new Woody Allen movie Melinda and Melinda also features the music of a string quartet. In a 20-second scene in which they play themselves, the celebrated Shanghai Quartet performs the Pizzicato Movement of Bartok's Fourth Quartet. They join NPR's Fred Child in Studio 4A to play a complete rendition, along with the third movement of Dvorak's "American" Quartet.
