Fred Child spent much of last week at the Aspen Music Festival and School in Colorado. This week, we'll hear him on stage at Aspen. We start with a remarkable 13-year-old violinist, Caroline Goulding: She and pianist Tamara Goldstein play William Bolcom's "Graceful Ghost," and the Czardas by Vittorio Monti. Aspen Music Director David Zinman joins Child to introduce Goulding, and two of Aspen's students have a surprise for Zinman on his 70th birthday: their arrangement of "Happy Birthday," in the style of Mozart and Strauss. That's played by 12-year-old Conrad Tao and 13-year-old Peng Peng Gong.
