Music on Only A Game 12/5/09
Dancin’ With Does by Brown Trout and the Lunkers (from Songs for the Deer Hunter, Lunker Records, 1993)
Gary's Take: Yeah, I know…the deer in our story was a buck, but I couldn’t find any lively instrumentals titled “Dancin’ With Bucks”. (Actually, wasn’t there a song with that title on the Annie soundtrack?)
This is by Brown Trout and the Lunkers, which also has a cd of fishing songs titled “Untangled”. Are we overdue for more fishing songs? Yes, Davey Davis, we are!
Hail to the Chief by The Heritage Choir and Orchestra (from American Pride: Sixteen Stirring Patriotic Themes, BCI Music, 2001)

Gary's Take: Hail to the Chief Hack, more like. And I mean that in a strictly golf sense.
Come, Come Ye Saints by The Mormon Tabernacle Choir (from America’s Choir, MTC, 2004)
Gary's Take: In keeping with the substance and spirit of our interview about Christian athletes and their religious displays during games, The MTabs (as we hip-hoppers refer to them) also offer inspirational hymns about the other 31 NFL teams, including The Broncos (Climb Every Mountain) and The Patriots (This is My Father’s World).
Cowboy Night Herd Song by Roy Rogers with The Sons of the Pioneers (from Songs of the West: Volume Three, Rhino, 1993)
Gary's Take: Holy Cow…it just dawned on me. The story on our show to which this song refers involved a man on a Massachusetts highway. Do you figure he was near a Roy Rogers restaurant when he roped them dogies? Now I know where they get their beef…
